"Hurry! Run!" a ginger tabby yowled to her clanmates as they struggled to escape the roaring flames. Weakened by sickness, her clan wasnt able to outrun the deadly fire. Only a few lucky and strong warriors had made it through.
She pushed on, aware of her clanmates behind her. At last she stopped.
"Rainshine?"She called out shakily to her deputy. "Here."he mottled gray tom padded behind her.
"good."she breathed. "Are you okay Sunnystar?" a golden tabby tom padded up, worry in his eyes. He was old, and his muzzle was stained with white.
"shes fine, Lionblaze."A white she-cat croaked from beside the old tom. "She has to be."
As Gazestar of Shadowclan bolted down the flaming territoty, the rest of the clan following, they ran into Thunderclan. They were a stagly group of warrirors, just like Shadowclan was.

Sure enough, Shadowstar and his warriors were racing down the slope, mostly all of them, thanks to their running skills. Shadowstar led his cats up the the two clans.
"Sunnystar!Gazestar! Where is RiverClan?"he demanded, his fur bristling, as usual.

"Right here!" a feebly cough sounded behind them, and Burningstar of Riverclan padded up to them.

She relaxed. "I know, Jayfeather."She sighed. "I just wish this hadnt happened."She gazed across the lake, the territory that used to belong to the clans.
A RiverClan she-cat stepped up to Burningstar. "Are you okay? Were you hurt?"Se demanded.

Echoripple sighed. "We can't, their are too many sick cats to leave!" Echoripple said, remembering her sister's kits, Amberpaw and Songkit, who both died. Amberpaw's body still lay near them. Both had died from the sickness.

"Gingerpelt, take as many warriors as possible and go with Rainshine." the gin ger tom nodded and weaved around his clanmates, looking for cats for the hunting patrol.

Suddenly sh saw a silver kit barely breathing. She ran to the kit "NO!" she cried looking for a medicine cat to help Moonkit

Fadedeyes was by Moonkit in an instant. He checked the kits breathing, then pushed shredded coltsfoot coated with honey into his mouth, stroking his throat to make him swallow.

Fadedeyes sniffed the air. His leader was right. the fire was close. He walked among his clanmates, checking all that were still alive, having to leave some due to thei injuries and sickness.

Sunnystar stared in horror at Fadedeyes. She knew he was right, and she couldnt let her clan get sick.
"Thunderclan! I must stay. I have thie sickness, and i do not wish for any of you to get sick."She lowered her head.

Flowergaze sighed. "I must stay too, I've gotten the sickness as well" she said to her Windclan clanmates, coughing up a mouthful of blood out of that speech. "How will we go on without our Windclan medicne cat?" one cat whispered.
